JULY FAVORITES

It’s so hard to believe August is here and summer is wrapping up - I feel like July is one of those months that never seems to end, but this year it flew by! I had such an eventful month of traveling and trying lots of new products, it was so hard to choose the faves I wanted to talk about. Shockingly, it includes two new foundations which I am obsessed with!? If you’ve read some of my previous posts on here and on Instagram over time, you know I’ve never been a foundation kind of girl. Times are a changing, people. I also know it’s 90 degrees and I definitely don’t need full coverage foundations in this weather. I’m completely backwards, but let’s run with it!

Chanel L’Eau Tan
Totally Instagram-influenced on this one. Packaging, as always, is A+. I mean it’s Chanel, did you expect anything less? You’re obviously paying for packaging in the high price point anyway. It’s summer, I’m Asian and I tan extremely easily. I hate traditional tanning products because I just get way too dark in the summer, but a lil bronzed glow couldn’t hurt. This is my $60 solution. You would think that for a $60 tanning product, the effect wouldn’t be so subtle and I can absolutely understand why most people would be underwhelmed! It doesn’t really tan, but it does exactly what I need.

Diorskin Forever Perfect Foundation*
I always thought I hated full coverage foundations until I met this beauty. It’s buildable and gives you that “perfect skin” skin while still looking completely natural. It’s more of a medium coverage foundation IMHO, although it is marketed as full coverage. It smoothly blurs right over your pores and imperfections and leaves you with a luminous matte finish. The price point is high at $52, but it’s worth the splurge if you can swing it.

Laura Mercier Flawless Fusion Ultra-Longwear Foundation*
This baby was kindly sent to me from my faves at Laura Mercier. I fell in love instantly. It’s a medium coverage foundation that truly makes your skin look like you’re not wearing anything. It’s the perfect everyday foundation because it’s not heavy and the finish is very natural and glowy. I’m typically not trying to look like I’m going out to an event or anything, ya feel? I’ve been reaching for this a ton and wearing it with LM’s Flawless Fusion Ultra-Longwear Concealer + Secret Brightening Powder, which pair perfectly with the foundation. TBH sometimes, I don’t even need them, the foundation often does the job.

Laura Mercier Lip Glace*
I’m a total idiot and forgot to include this in the photo. I’ve been wearing this product in the shade Opal every day, literally since the day I got it. I never thought it was possible for a lip gloss to be this non-sticky! It adds a subtle, warm touch of color to your lips, complimenting your natural color or your lipstick if you decide to pair them. I love the look of this shade with Colourpop’s Blotted Lip in Candy Floss. It’s the perfect summery peachy shine!

Slip Silk Sleep mask
This month was rough on my eyes. I’ve had terrible eyestrain and headaches from constantly being on the computer and every bit of light bothered me. I’ve heard so many great things about this sleep mask from Slip so I had to pick one up from my local Anthropologie. I’ve held off on buying one of these for some time due to the price, but now owning it, I can tell it’s going to last me a long time. It’s not cheaply made, the band fits snug around my head and isn’t too tight or too lose. The silk sleep mask itself is literally silky smooth and I can barely feel it on. It’s bougie but necessary.

Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum*
A favorite for July, and every other month of the year tbh. If I could only use one serum for the rest of my life, it’d be this one. I tried it for the first time back when it was the Sephora birthday gift and just this month I got another full-size bottle (thanks April!), so I obviously had to rave about it. This beauty leaves your skin visibly brighter and brings out your natural glow, while evening out your skin tone and dark circles. This month I’ve had so many dry patches on my skin and once I started using this serum again I saw significant improvements.

Context Gloss + Repair Spray*
This spray is a lovely blend of safflower and Jojoba oils with Vitamin E to keep hair shiny, soft, and most importantly, healthy! A lot of times I’m all over taking care of my skin that I completely forget about my hair (and the rest of my body) but this travel bottle is making it so much easier. It’s been perfect this month since I’ve been all over the place and the air has been so dry where I live.
